Our story: a legacy of community, sport and service
The story of SSU Kelab Aman is a story of people coming together. Generations of members, volunteers, sportspeople and community leaders have helped create a home for sport, friendship and culture in Kuala Lumpur.

The Selangor Sikh Union began as a non-religious community organisation in the early 20th century. In 1954, the Government allocated approximately six acres along Jalan Aman for recreation. What is now a familiar community landmark began as a difficult former mining site, transformed through drainage work, fundraising and the dedication of club members.
The clubhouse and recreation grounds formally opened on 1 August 1974. The name Kelab Aman means “Peace Club” in Malay, reflecting the spirit of friendship and community that continues to shape club life.
In 1998, Kelab Aman was an official cricket venue for the Kuala Lumpur Commonwealth Games. It hosted group-stage matches and the bronze medal match during the first Games to include cricket, connecting the club’s community sporting heritage with an international event.
Today, that legacy continues through sport, youth development, cultural celebrations and the contributions of members from different backgrounds. Our expanded About Us page brings together the club’s milestones, shared values and future vision.
